About
Hello - Hoi - 你好!
I am Quyang, a PhD candidate in Persuasive Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), University of Amsterdam, advised by Dr. H.A.M. (Hilde) Voorveld, Dr J. (Joanna) Strycharz, and Dr. C.S. (Corine) Meppelink
Prior to this, I obtained both a rMSc degree in Communication Science (research master, Cum Laude Distinction) and a BSc degree in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam, and a BA degree in Advertising (Distinction, Outstanding Graduate) from China Jiliang University. Previously, I worked as a research assistant and a teaching assistant at the University of Amsterdam.
My PhD research examines algorithmic persuasion from a differential vulnerability perspective, focusing on why some individuals and groups are more susceptible to algorithmic influence than others. I aim to develop effective interventions that empower people to recognize and cope with algorithmic persuasion in everyday digital life.
I love Arsenal ❤️, movies 🎬, photography 📸, and playing with cat friends 😽!
